Dance and movement has been a part of Meghan’s life since the age of two, when she watched her sister in dance class and could not stop dancing herself! After years of classical dance training, she found her love for yoga while filling a college credit at FIT. She was immediately intrigued and began exploring the world of yoga.
College led Meghan into the fast paced fashion industry, where she looked to her yoga practice as a place of solitude and peace. She soon realized how the soulful impact of yoga had transformed her outlook on life. Deciding to fully immerse herself in study, Meghan left the fashion world and made her way to the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in the beautiful and healing Berkshires. There, she studied under Coby Kozlowski and Randal Williams during their month long 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training program. She connected deeply with the compassionate Kripalu practice and
began to weave her teachings in with her Vinyasa Flow.
Truly understanding the stress of city life, Meghan returned to Brooklyn, more motivated than ever to spread the light and positivitythat Yoga has to offer. Since her training in 2013, Meghan has co-founded Daya Yoga Studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Developing a strong community and safe haven for those seeking to find their healing path. Meghan has received her Reiki Level 1 certification and also completed a training with her teacher Nevine Michaan in a Taoist based practice called Katonah Yoga.
In Meghan’s classes, she combines the inward, meditative, compassionate Kripalu approach and marries it with elements of Hatha, Kundalini and Taoist theory. She uses the poses as a metaphor, linking the body, mind, and breath to potentiate well being, encouraging her students to feel and use their inner radiant light. Expect playful approaches to asana and blissful meditation. Meghan’s goal is to spread her love and help others feel empowered!
